The Curriculum journey: 

2021: A co-created curriculum framework aimed at supporting all academies to develop a curriculum that will create the environment for all children to flourish.

2022:   Development of Aspect 5: Trust progression document co-created to support all academies to deliver a knowledge rich and challenging curriculum to all children.

2023:  Quality curriculum in all academies taking account of local needs and context

A progression model based on the National Curriculum as a minimum expectation – helping to deliver a knowledge rich and challenging curriculum to all children within Elevate Multi-Academy Trust 

Curriculum Glossary of terms:
Substantive knowledge – the foundational knowledge and concepts that are essential to understanding a subject
Disciplinary Knowledge – the unique method, approaches and ways of thinking within a subject
Sequencing – the intentional ordering of learning experiences to promote understanding and retention of knowledge
Component – a part or element of a larger whole
Composites – multiple components or elements combined to form  a larger whole
Cultural capital – the knowledge, skills and experiences that are valued in a particular society or culture
Progression – the systematic development of knowledge and skills over time
Curriculum coherence – the alignment and consistency of learning objectives, instructional methods, and assessments across a subject area or curriculum
